Marissa Lampe is an LICSW with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver and holds a certificate in Human-Animal-Environment Interactions in Social Work (HAEI). Marissa began her career as a victim advocate, supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, which has continued to inspire and inform her therapeutic work today.

Marissa approaches her work from the belief therapy works best when you truly feel comfortable being yourself. Her style is warm, collaborative, and down to earth, with plenty of humor mixed in when it fits. She takes a client-centered, strengths-based approach and wants therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change without judgment.

Marissa works with adults and takes an integrative approach, meaning she tailors therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model. She has advanced training in EMDR, CPT, and trauma-informed care. Her clinical interests include PTSD and complex trauma, anxiety, dissociation, depression, grief, addiction, chronic health conditions, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

Marissa is also an experienced couples therapist who works with couples using Gottman Method Therapy. She is passionate about helping people within their relationships because she recognizes that relationships can be incredibly meaningful and, sometimes, incredibly complicated.

Whether you see Marissa for individual or couples therapy, she understands that therapy isn’t always easy—and it doesn’t have to be serious all the time, either. Her goal is to meet you where you are, help you better understand yourself and what you’ve been through, and support you in building a life that feels more manageable, connected, and like your own.

And yes, you’ll probably laugh sometimes, too.
